This was session 387 of Tesos and Wi-Fi, a free wireless LAN professionals training class focused on teaching Wavelify, a Wi-Fi design tool. The session was led by Ferney who demonstrated how to create and populate a floor plan with walls, doors, windows, cable paths, access points, and other network infrastructure elements. Participants learned about drawing attenuation objects, placing access points with specific settings, creating cable trays, and generating design reports that include coverage analysis and material estimates. Ferney identified several areas for improvement in the software, including issues with object selection and copy-paste functionality, and noted that these feedback points would be shared with the development team. The session covered basic navigation between 2D and 3D views, object placement and properties, and optimization features, with plans to continue working on multiple floors and additional design elements in the next session.
