364a Sesión de Tesos en Wi-Fi: WLANPros Wi-Fi Design [Hamina Wireless, multiple floors]

The session was part of the free Wireless LAN Professionals Wi-Fi Design Class, focusing on using Hamina for Wi-Fi design. Ferney led the class, ensuring all participants had temporary Hamina licenses and demonstrating how to create and scale projects, import floor plans, and automatically detect walls, doors, and windows. Jerry from Hamina joined to answer questions about floor attenuation, ceiling heights, and modeling slabs and raised floors, clarifying how these settings affect the 3D model. The group learned to create multi-floor buildings, align floor plans, define scope zones, and model special elements like holes in floors, short walls (verandas), drop ceilings, and air ducts using attenuation objects. Ferney also showed how to copy objects between floors, adjust wall heights, and visualize the environment in 3D. The session highlighted Hamina’s visual interface and ease of use compared to other tools, with participants sharing their impressions and experiences.

00:59:48 Glenn De Haes: In ekahau you have to set the accuracy to max to get refraction calculation. Mainly helps in hallways/aisles to see how far the signal goes or to see signal around pillars. In AI Planner Online, it is on by default. In Hamina, it is also on by default since it is also cloud. In iBwave or LANPlanner, you can choose the attenuation calculation models but in the end, the result is mostly the same as in Ekahau and Hamina

01:10:44 Glenn De Haes: out of scope is out of scope so you don’t foresee coverage in that area. Walls around the out of scope area are taken into account for the coverage in the surrounding areas. It is just not showing coverage in that defined area
